My chc-122bd had broken only a month after purchasing. Whynter was great and sent me a new one, told me to dispose of the old. It seemed a waste, and since the electronics still worked so I bought this part. It needed no instructions, there were 8 screws on the back panel, and 2 holding this in place. Now there are 6 wires on this unit going to the two 2 wire clips and 2 are soldiered to the controller board. While removing and re soldiering these was the proper option (on not all that hard), splicing with crimps was an easier one. Had the part installed and back together in 5 minutes and best of all it worked. So now I have 2 winadors.

there is no reason that you have to solder it into the controller. Seems like it could just as easily been a snap line the rest of the connections. It was very easy to install other wise.
